However, for students looking for undergraduate medicine programmes, the number is realistically lower. Of these 11 schools registered with SMC, only three schools offer undergraduate programmes. These three schools are:

Monash University's medical school is a popular choice amongst Singaporeans aspiring to study medicine.
Monash University, Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences has a 2020 QS ranking of 31.

Duration of Course

The total duration of the course is 5 years.

These 5 years is structured into campus based learning and hospital or community based learning.

  • Foundations in Basic Sciences

Students applying from Singapore can apply using either their A-levels or IB Diploma results.

  • Chemistry can be taken at either Standard Level (SL) or Higher Level (HL)
    • For Chemistry taken at SL, applicants should score a 5.

  • English is a compulsory subject requirement.

All students applying into Monash medical school will be required to sit for the ISATs.

2. The University of New South Wales, Faculty of Medicine

UNSW medical school (2020 QS ranking of 6) is one of the many medical schools in Australia to hold year-round applications.
The University of New South Wales, Faculty of Medicine has a 2020 QS Ranking of 46.

Duration of Course

The total duration of the course is 6 years.

These 6 years is structured into three phases.

Phase 1

  • Year 1 to 2
  • Integrated scenario-based learning in biomedical, clinical and social sciences
  • Clinical and communication skills training

Phase 2

  • Integrated Clinical courses and Independent learning project or Honours
  • Clinical exposure in hospital placements

Phase 3

Duration of Course

The total duration of the course is 6 years.

These 6 years is structured into three phases.

Year 1 to 2

  • Fundamentals of Biomedical Science
  • Clinical Skills, Medical Professional and Personal Development courses

Year 3

  • Clinical skills trainings in public teaching hospitals

Year 4 to 6

  • Clinical placements in a wide range of organisations
